WELD-IN REAR-STEER IFS KITS
FOR KIT CARS - PRO-STREET VEHICLES

This weld-in, rear-steer IFS kit is designed specifically for those type of early cars that have no room between the grille shell and front axle for the rack and pinion steering. Stage I and II kits are available for both cars and pickups.

The Stage II kit, featuring a 2 X 4 X .188-inch wall box-tubing crossmember, uses GM (’78-88) intermediate-size car (Chevelle, Malibu, Cutlass) spindles, balljoints, rotors (10 1/2-inch diameter), and calipers, gives you parts availability just about everywhere! The D.O.M. tubing A-arms (7/8-inch diameter X .156-inch wall upper-arm and 1-inch X .156-inch wall lower-arm) connect to a ’78-85 manual Omni rack via our bolt-on, rear-mounted steering arms for the correct Akerman geometry and steering ratio. With a two position lower-mount and a three position upper-mount, the adjustable QA1 aluminum coilover-shocks (with powder coated springs and valved to our specs) offer you the easy alignment and ride adjustment you desire! The more economical Stage I kit (designed to use the Stage II components) is a real money saver! We provide the modified (steering arm) spindles, crossmember, upper and lower A-arms with cross shafts, QA1 adjustable, aluminum coilover shocks, steering rod-ends, and a ’78-85 Omni rack (listed above). You furnish the balljoints, rotors, calipers from an intermediate GM Chevelle, Malibu, or Cutlass. You’ll save plenty from the price of our Stage II kits, by providing your own parts!

Your options or substitutions (at extra cost) include a power Omni rack, a 1-inch diameter sway bar, hub bolt-pattern changes, and optional tread-widths available. To inquire about any custom IFS units, steering linkage kits or options not mentioned, call us!
